Fungus (IPA: /ˈfʌŋɡəs/) is a Grassland-type Natural Denjuu. It is the player's first partner at the beginning of the game in Speed version in Telefang 1. Its design was said to have been based on a dragon. Its counterpart is Crypto.
It Natural evolves into Fungblade at Level 20. One of its final forms is the True Denjuu, Funglord.
Name etymology[edit]
From fungus, as in mushrooms and molds.
A pre-release advertisement in Comic Bom Bom showed its name to be "Fungias" (ファンギアス).

Fungus is obtained from Musa's house in Tronco Village as a starter. It cannot be nicknamed unless traded, and is always obtained at level 5, with a 
Faithful personality.

English Patch Notes[edit]
In earlier translations, Fungus's field guide entry reads as: "It mocks its opponents with its superior agility, then attacks with its horns".
Trivia[edit]
- Unlike its counterpart, Fungus makes an appearance in Telefang 2. Albeit, with most of its evolutions removed. Instead of evolving multiple times, it splits between Funglord, Fungblade and Fungboost.
